Hotels I Booked This Week
Grand Hyatt Washington
My wife and I are trying to get away for a weekend in September and we decided to take a trip to Washington, D.C. When searching for hotels I fired up the Hyatt app to see what hotels were close to the monuments and museums we wanted to go there and the Grand Hyatt Washington was the perfect option.
We have a fair share of Chase Ultimate Rewards points so this made a perfect redemption for our weekend. In the picture below you can see all the added charges for this property, they add up quickly in a bigger city.
However, with Hyatt, if you use points to pay for the hotel you will waive the cost of the taxes and fees. I used 15k points per night. When I look to see if using points is worth the price versus using cash, I try to get 2 cents per point for a Hyatt redemption. To calculate this, you need to type in the cash price of $749.09 divided by 30,000 points, which comes to be 2.49 cents per point, making this a great redemption.
I am looking forward to getting away for a couple of days and seeing some of the history of our nation.
