Getting to Seville from Madrid

After we got off the plane in Madrid and got through security. There are a couple of options to get to Madrid-Atocha train station.

1. Take the bus

This was how I planned on going there and I have used City Mapper in the past getting around cities and I thought I was on the right bus but I don’t think the bus driver understood what I was saying so we ended up taking our next option.

2. Taking a taxi

Taking a taxi was not the cheapest way to get to the train station but it was a flat €33 to get there so it turned out just fine.

This was my first time taking a train so I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was really smoothly. I booked my Ave high speed train through Rail Europe. There are several different options of booking such as trainline.com, directly on Renfe and a few other options but with Rail Europe I was able to book further out. However there is $8.45 booking fee. I paid a total of $80.45 for both of us. It was about 2:30 hr to get there and only one stop.

When you get to the train station about 30 minutes before departure they show on the screens which platform you are on. It was pretty easy navigating the train station.

Overall, getting around Spain between cities the train is the way to go.
